NOT WHAT I ORDERED
I AM OUTRAGED. I ordered a MARKA mask, and that is NOT what I got!
Where is the metal! Marka masks are usually plated with metal, while this one CLEARLY isn’t! This is a Bamana mask!! I would bet this is either a N’tomo initiation mask or a Kore mask, but it looks nothing like either one! A N’tomo mask is used to initiate adolescent boys into Bamana society and usually has two to eight horns, but this only has one! It could also be a kore mask, another initiation mask, but for society’s 6th and final level, where a boy is reborn as a man. But either way, this mask doesn’t match a single thing I have ever seen and is not a Marka mask. Sadigh will be hearing from me. I’ll show him what a PROPER N’tomo mask looks like.
