Yeah…no. 

The materials for this are all wrong!! Bamileke ancestor figures are made of either entirely wood or wood covered in beads…so why are their cowrie shells on the head?? And the necklace and cloth on the figure, that is a practice from other cultures, not Bamileke! I suspect this piece is very possibly mass produced as well. This could explain the convergence of cultures and the plainness of the piece. I have owned other Bamileke ancestor figure before and none of them are as awkward and strange as this one. The shape and stance of this figure is garish and unsteady, it does not stand on its own. The arms on other ancestor figures are connected to the body, unlike this one. Everything about this piece is just off, unbelievable scam.
