Where did you find this?
This was most certainly not what I ordered! I know that these painted vases were all over ancient Greece but this is such a farce. They were made en masse and came in all sorts of sizes. I’m amazed at how far this man has come when it comes down to trying to fake things. These were made using a potter’s wheel and the designs would have been carved with a sharp tool. Because they were so common, the artisans who made them were experts. That’s how I know this isn’t the real deal. First of all, the lack of detail or control of the carved lines indicates the unskilled hand that produced this piece. Additionally, the seemingly strategic placement of dirt around the shapes makes this piece suspicious. How did it magically not get ruined anywhere there were supposed to be images?
