Berea College is an undergraduate work college founded by abolitionists and reformers in 1855 with the goal of providing educational opportunities to students of all races who have great promise and limited economic resources. The Department of Art & Art History offers a BA in Art with concentrations in Art History and Studio Art (with faculty in Drawing/Painting, Fibers, Printmaking, Sculpture/Intermedia, and Ceramics). The Doris Ulmann Galleries support student learning across the liberal arts curriculum with exhibitions highlighting art from the extensive Berea College Art Collection and the work of contemporary artists from across the country.
