
Artist Talk with Mayuko Ono Gray

Visiting artist Mayuko Ono Gray will host an artist talk in conjunction with the closing of her exhibition, “Mayuko Ono Gray: This too, shall pass,” on Wednesday, November 18, at 5:00 in the Upper Traylor Gallery. This event is free and open to the public. A reception with refreshments and snacks will be available after the talk. No RSVP required.
Mayuko Ono Gray is an artist based in Houston, Texas, whose primary medium is graphite drawing. Born in Japan, she trained in traditional Japanese calligraphy in her youth and later studied classical Western drawing. Ono Gray moved to the United States following high school and went on to receive her MFA in painting from the University of Houston in 2007. Her work has been exhibited extensively in the United States and abroad, including exhibitions in Japan, Mexico, Germany, Italy, UK, Greece, and Canada. Her works are represented by Hooks-Epstein galleries in Houston and by Galería 910 in Oaxaca, Mexico.
