The Doris Ulmann Galleries and the Art and Art History Program are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a Juried Alumni Exhibition in the Lower Traylor Gallery, October 1 – November 19, 2017. There will be a closing reception to kick off Homecoming Weekend, Friday, November 17.

The exhibition is open to any graduate of the Art and Art History Program (formerly known as the Art Department). All media will be considered. To submit your work, complete the form below including image jpegs (up to 3, may be of different pieces), descriptions, artist statement and CV (optional). Any alumni artist who does not have access to a computer, digital imaging tools, or any other barrier for applying through this form, please email or call the Director of the Galleries (contact info below) for an alternative application process.

The exhibition will be juried by Kyle and Kelly Phelps, nationally-renowned ceramic artists and art faculty members at the University of Dayton and Xavier University, respectively. Their work has been featured in exhibitions around the country as well as in Ceramics Monthly, Sculpture, and American Craft.

Timeline:

Accepted Works Due on Campus – September 15, 2017

Exhibition – October 1 – November 19, 2017

Accepted Shipping

Artists are responsible for shipping or hand delivering their work to the Doris Ulmann Galleries by the delivery date listed above. Use sturdy, reusable packaging if shipping work. Return shipping must be prepaid by the artist and enclosed with the artwork. Works will be returned in the same manner as delivered or via UPS. The Doris Ulmann Galleries is not responsible for works not claimed within 30 days of the end of the exhibition.

Upon notification of acceptance, all works to be exhibited should be shipped or delivered ready for presentation. Two-dimensional works should be wired and ready to hang. Three-dimensional works must include specific instructions for assembly or display. Doris Ulmann Galleries reserves the right to reject works not gallery-ready or that differ significantly from the images originally submitted.

To Deliver in Person: Friday, September 15, 2017 at 10am in the Lower Traylor Gallery, Rogers Traylor Art Building.  If you are unable to drop off at this time, please contact Meghan Doherty to make other arrangements.

Pick Up: Artwork may be picked up on Sunday, November 19 at 3pm or on Monday November 20 at 10am. If you are unable to pick up at this time, please contact Meghan Doherty to make other arrangements.

Insurance

The Doris Ulmann Galleries will insure artwork for stated value while the work is in transit to the Galleries and on the premises, provided a statement of insurance value is submitted to the Galleries one week before shipment.

Honoraria

The Doris Ulmann Galleries will provided each accepted artist with an honorarium of $50 to help defray to cost of getting their work to campus.
