The Doris Ulmann Galleries at Berea College invites proposals for solo exhibitions for the academic years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. All media are welcome; submissions from artists currently enrolled in an undergraduate program will not be considered. Exhibitions will last approximately six weeks, with a week on either side for install and deinstall and will be held in either the Upper Traylor or Lower Traylor galleries (see images and floor plans below). Berea College will provide an honorarium, promotional postcards, and insurance coverage on-site. The artist is responsible for framing, shipping, and/or delivery.

Berea College is an undergraduate work college founded by abolitionists and reformers in 1855 with the goal of providing educational opportunities to students of all races who have great promise and limited economic resources. The Department of Art & Art History offers a BA in Art with concentrations in Art History and Studio Art (focusing on Drawing/Painting, Fibers, Printmaking, Sculpture/Intermedia, or Ceramics). The Doris Ulmann Galleries support student learning across the liberal arts curriculum with exhibitions highlighting art from the extensive Berea College Art Collection and the work of contemporary artists from across the country.
